Testimonials -Private Lessons |
"Dancing became a wonderful form of therapy for me after my husband's death. Through Ashton' and Dance Therapy Studios’ expert teaching, I was able to connect with the thrilling passion of salsa and transform grief into joy. I will forever be grateful to Ashton and Dance therapy Studios for helping me embrace the art of dance, a form of exercise I will enjoy for the rest of my life."

"I began taking private lessons with Ashton back in December of 2006, five months after I joined his Salsa Rueda class. I started out taking one private lesson per week, which quickly turned into two lessons per week, and eventually three per week. My initial purpose for taking private lessons was to improve my technique in all of the nine ballroom dances and to learn other dances that Ashton specializes in. However, I soon came to realize that I have found my passion...dance! Not only did my dance technique improve, I was also benefiting physically and emotionally from dancing. I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and have a highly stressful job at the VCU Medical Center's Pediatrics Unit. I am also a full time mother of a 4 and a 1/2 year old boy, who is always loaded with energy. My 3 hours of private lessons and 1 1/2 hours of group class per week both allow me to utilize that time to take care of my mental and physical health simultaneously. Dance is my therapy! Thanks, Dance Therapy Studios."

"I wanted to learn ballroom dancing. I felt the strictly ballroom crowd was daunting. Then, I went to a Latin Dance party where most of the current students for Dance Therapy were present. I was warmly welcomed and started taking lessons the next week. I have thanked Ashton and Anne Marie and others who were patient and focused on me getting it right. I enjoy dancing and know that I was taught well."
